We Need To Talk About Kevin
Get psyched for this movie. It currently has a 95 on rottentomatoes and it should be coming to an artsy-fartsy theater theater near you. I'm excited about it mainly because I had the chance to be an extra in the climax night scene at the high school! Now these trailers are not very good/ don't give you any clue what the plot is about, but definitely go out and support it!

Mindblowing Solo Piano Phase- Steve Reich
If your mind is not on the floor, something is wrong-- well maybe I should explain why mine is. The piece is called Piano Phase and written by minimalist composer Steve Reich. Usually 2 pianists play the exact same 12 note melody over and over (for 50ish minutes I think)while they slowly become un-synched. This is really really REALLY hard as it is, but when you are out phasing yourself, well.......

FREE MOVIE OF THE WEEK
That's right, my one recurring segment is back after a long break. This week the show is Oscar Best Picture winning How Green Was My Valley. I won't be able to articulate the greatness of the story and family dynamic, so if you are interested look up a real review. There you go.

For some reason this movie seems very interesting. Watch the trailer for yourself and think about it. The visual style is what probably brought me in along with its oddball concept. Also the score is by Mr. Ozio (Monsieur Wah- Zo) a famous French Electro dude who is friends with Justice- pretty cool.

Hit Em Up Style- Carolina Chocolate Drops
THIS SONG BLEW ME AWAY. I was not expecting such a soulful/ beat-tastic tune from a band with a fairly silly band title. If you enjoy the music from O Brother, Where Art Thou? (which you should) then you will enjoy this thoroughly.
Also, this is a far cry from most of the music I post here, but good music can transcend genre.
